초록

본 연구는 문화간 의사소통 능력을 구성하는 문화간 감수성이 COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 대
학생들의 여행 불안감에 영향을 미쳤을 것이라는 가정 하에 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였
다. 1) 한국인 대학생과 외국인 유학생은 문화간 감수성 및 여행 불안감에서 각각 차이를 나타내
는가? 2) 문화간 감수성과 여행 불안감의 관계는 어떠한가? 3) 문화간 감수성은 여행 불안감에
어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 본 연구는 COVID-19가 완전히 종식되지 않은 2023년 초, 국가거점
국립대학인 A 대학에서 ‘문화간 감수성 척도’와 ‘여행 불안감 척도’를 사용하여 양적 측정을 하
였으며, ‘문화간 감수성’과 ‘여행 불안감’을 변인으로 하여 차이검증, 상관분석, 회귀분석을 실시
하였다. 조사 대상은 ‘한국인 대학생 집단’과 ‘외국인 유학생 집단’으로 나누어 살펴보았는데, 타
문화 접촉 환경에 따라 문화간 감수성 정도에 차이를 나타낼 것으로 예상하였기 때문이다. 먼저
문화간 감수성에서 차이검증 결과, 외국인 유학생 집단이 유의한 점수 차이로 높게 나타났다. 여
행 불안감 역시 외국인 유학생 집단이 유의한 점수 차이로 높은 점수를 획득하였다. 다음으로 상
관분석 결과, 문화간 감수성과 여행 불안감 사이의 부(-)적 상관관계를 확인하였는데 전체 집단
과 외국인 유학생 집단에서는 상관관계가 유의하였으나 한국인 대학생 집단에서는 유의하지 않
았다. 마지막으로 회귀분석 결과, 전체 집단과 외국인 유학생 집단에서 문화간 감수성이 여행 불
안감에 유의한 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 한국의 대학
에 재학 중인 학생들의 ‘문화간 감수성’과 ‘여행 불안감’의 정도를 파악하여 현황을 진단하고 문
화간 감수성 교육프로그램 개발 연구의 기초를 마련했다는 데에 본 연구의 의의가 있다

This study was based on the assumption that intercultural sensitivity, which constitutes
intercultural communication competence, may have influenced college students’ anxiety
travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore t-test, correlation analysis, and
regression analysis were conducted using ‘intercultural sensitivity’ and ‘anxiety travel’ as
variables. The subjects of the study were divided into ‘Korean college students’ and
‘international students’ because it was expected that the degree of intercultural
sensitivity would differ depending on the environment of intercultural contact. The
results of the difference test on cultural sensitivity showed that the international
students’ scores were significantly higher. Anxiety travel was also significantly higher
among international students. Next, the correlation analysis confirmed a negative
correlation between intercultural sensitivity and anxiety travel, which was significant for
the overall group and the international students group, but not for the Korean college
students. Finally, the regression analysis showed that intercultural sensitivity had a
significant negative effect on anxiety travel in the overall group and the international
students group. The significance of this study is that it identifies the extent of
intercultural sensitivity and anxiety travel among students enrolled in Korean
universities, diagnoses the current situation, and provides a basis for further research.
